"PRINCE2™ is a process-based approach for project management providing an easily tailored and scaleable method for the management of all types of projects. The method is the de- facto standard for project management in the UK and is practiced worldwide."

PRINCE2™ was launched by the UK Government in 1996 and has since become the most widely used project management method worldwide.  At the end of 2006 there were more than 250,000 certified project managers who had sat and passed the PRINCE2™ practitioner exam. 

PRINCE2™ is not only an academic approach. It is an evolved and proven method to direct, manage or participate on a project which follows (some of) the processes, components and techniques embodied in the PRINCE2™ manual.

The main driver behind PRINCE2™ is still the UK Government, altough several other governments are now prescribing its use (for example The Netherlands, Denmark, Germany). It has also been adopted by The United Nations Development Program as way to run their projects. Other then governments, it has also find its way to the private sector where it has grown beyond IT projects only.

The PRINCE2™ Foundation training course is designed for anyone involved in directing, managing or supporting a project in a PRINCE2™ environment. Of course it will benefit those participating in complex and dynamic projects in non-PRINCE2™ environments.

Participants gain an overall understanding of the PRINCE2™ methodology, project management and project based work, enabling them to contribute more effectively as a member of a project team or project board.

The PRINCE2™ Practitioner training course is designed for project management professionals, consultants and contractors operating in PRINCE2™ environments, or complex and dynamic projects in non- PRINCE2™ environments. Passing this course with an 80-% rate is also a pre- requisite for anyone wishing to become a PRINCE2™ approved trainer or consultant.

At Practitioner, participants gain the in-depth knowledge on the application of the PRINCE2™ methodology. Learning how to initiate, plan, monitor, progress and adjust complex projects.

Both courses are designed to prepare candidates for the PRINCE2™ examinations administered by The APMG (Association of Project Managers Group).
